Pricing

Please call or e-mail me for information about pricing for available paintings or commissions. My prices start at $50.00 for mini
(up to 4x4) watercolor or acrylic animals and go as high as several thousand dollars for large complex pieces. Shipping is additional.

A 9x12 commission of a dog or other pet's head with a simple background in oil is $350.00. Two or more animals in the same painting are additional, as well as more complex paintings - and can be discussed.

I also do many house and garden portraits, for both homeowners and Real Estate Agents.  Please contact me for pricing, which is based on size and complexity.

Process

I work from photographs of the animals and the better the photograph, the better the end result will be. If the location of the pet is within a reasonable distance from my studio, I like to meet them so I can get a real feeling for their personality. I am located in the Marina Bay area of Richmond, CA. I would then take additional photos of my own.  Sometimes a particular pose is desired but the color isn't right or the eyes don't show.  In that case additional photographs that give more information are helpful. If you e-mail me please indicate in the subject line that you are inquiring about a painting so your communication won't be discarded in bulk mail. A 50% deposit is required on all commissions.

The process for house or garden portraits is similar to the process for animal portraits - good photographs with good lighting and multiple views. I also do commissions of scenes that patrons have photographed – for example, on vacations – which I will do in either oil or watercolor depending on your preferences.  These can also be discussed and quoted, and a 50% deposit is required to start the painting.

I hope to hear from you!

Happy Clients

Benita Gaudier is an artist extraordinaire, I adore her work! My interest first began when I purchased a small painting of a cow, and I became so enamored with him I had to buy two more, a cow and a horse. She then surprised me with a beautiful rendition of three dogs (painted from a photograph I had taken) that was so lifelike, I commissioned her to do a large portrait of nine pups in the back of my truck. I cannot tell you how delighted I am with this new piece, which has it’s permanent place in prominent view in my home.
